So what is this Timthumb thing?
It’s a php script that dynamically re-sizes images for your website. It was developed for WordPress and since it’s release has been incorporated into many themes and applications.
I tried to migrate my website and Timthumb is broken! How do I fix it?
Timthumb works great! However, from development-to-live site it doesn’t always make the jump smoothly. A string of broken links leaves your site looking… well broken 🙂 The fix for this timthumb migration problem requires commenting out line 214 (sometimes line 219) in the timthumb.php (sometimes also the thumb.php) file:
// $this->src = preg_replace('/https?:\/\/(?:www\.)?' . $this->myHost . '/i', '', $this->src);
Save and re-upload the file, then the links work again!
The developer has also placed some troubleshooting tips at his site: Binary Moon. However, I have found that these don’t fix the WordPress migration issues.
